PHILOSOPHY OF THE ARTIST

A camera captures what we can see with our eyes.  A painting captures what we feel in our heart.  Creative expression through painting is a presentation of the soul of the artist, communicating an emotional bond with the seen and unseen.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Heather Molans’ parents were both artists who painted in Miami, Florida, during the nineteen fifties.  She was a “natural” artist.  Her parents gave her no formal training, and waited, instead, for her to develop her own style.  She began winning art awards in the third grade.

Heather studied art and education at Barry University where she graduated with a BA degree.  She taught art in the public schools, worked as a commercial artist, and owned a handmade pottery business.  However, it was the brilliance of watercolor that captivated her, and led her to form her art production company, Creative Accents.  Her expertise is in botanical watercolor painting, creating paintings and prints, teaching and leading workshops and demonstrations.  She has taught watercolor classes, demonstrated, and done workshops for watercolor societies in the state of Florida.

Heather is an award winning artist whose work appears in private and corporate art collections.  She has enjoyed gallery representation as well as one man shows and representation in juried art shows. She is a signature member of the Miami Watercolor Society, a member of the National Watercolor Society, and a member of the Sedona Arts Center.  She is a published artist whose work has appeared in brochures and on billboards, in magazines and on magazine covers.

Heather has also volunteered extensively in the community.  She and her husband, Jim, have worked independently with the homeless, as well as with Better Way of Miami, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility for mainly indigent clients.  They have also worked to rescue and rehabilitate stray cats and dogs for many years.

Heather is a former chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Better Way of Miami and present member of the Board, former president of the Women’s Chamber of Commerce, former executive vice president of  Citizens’ Crime Watch of Miami Dade County, former member of the Board of Directors of Friends of Music, former Member Of The Year of the Miami chapter of the Association of Professional Mortgage Women, and she received a proclamation from the City of South Miami for her community involvement.  Heather is a lifetime member of the Cambridge Who’s Who, and is included in the 2008 – 2009 edition of the Cambridge Who’s Who Registry of Executives, Professionals and Entrepreneurs.
